...Large Japanese Hand Painted Vase
Kyō Satsuma (Kyoto Satsuma) ware, known for its gorgeous colors, meticulous technique, and ornately detailed painting, was first produced some 150 years ago in the early Meiji period (1868–1912). This Kyo-Satsuma Early 20th Century vase is a superb example of this art form. The stunning vase features 3 women dancing with fans and a lovely purple and pink Iris on the opposite side.  All design elements are surrounded by the intricate and colorful Satsuma style decoration with gold relief. The neck of the vase is adorned by two lucky reddish/brown foo dogs. The vase neck is fluted in a striking pattern. The condition of this used vintage vase is fine, with a few minor condition issues as pictured. One ring handle on a foo dogs is partially missing and the other handle has been repaired. The vase also has the minor crazing common in these vintage ceramic items. No condition items affect the vase's beauty or value.
